The heart of what we do

Beyond Marks. Beyond the Classroom.

Every child has something to say.

Our role is to help them find the words, develop their ideas and gain the confidence to express them.

RCC goes beyond learning English as a subject.

It gives children opportunities to read, think, write, speak, listen, create and communicate in meaningful situations.

Six skills. One growing journey.

From understanding language to using it with confidence.

At Little Laudable Learners, six interconnected skills come together to help children progressively develop as readers, writers, storytellers and speakers.

Our comprehensive and progressive programme builds these abilities step by step, helping children grow from strong readers into confident communicators.

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

What is Raising Confident Communicators (RCC)?

RCC is a structured reading and communication programme for children aged 7–13. It develops six interconnected skills: Strategic Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar, Creative Writing, Storytelling and Public Speaking.

The programme helps children move from understanding language to thinking independently and expressing their ideas with clarity and confidence.

What age group is RCC designed for?

RCC has two stages:

  • RCC Junior | Ages 7–10 | Levels 4–6
  • RCC Expressions | Ages 11–13 | Levels 7–9

Children progress through the levels based on their age, learning needs and readiness.

Is RCC an English grammar course?

No. Grammar is one component of RCC.

RCC brings reading, vocabulary, grammar, writing, storytelling and speaking together so that children learn to use English as a communication skill, rather than simply learning grammar rules.

What skills will my child develop?

RCC develops six interconnected skills: Strategic Reading • Vocabulary • Grammar • Creative Writing • Storytelling • Public Speaking

Together, these help children understand what they read, think about ideas, find the right words, develop their thoughts, create meaningful responses and communicate them effectively.

Is RCC suitable for a child who is already good at English?

Yes. RCC is not only for children who need support with English.

It is designed to help children deepen their reading, expand their vocabulary, strengthen their writing, develop their ideas and become more articulate and confident communicators.

Will my child get opportunities to speak and present?

Yes. Active participation is an important part of RCC.

Children regularly get opportunities to discuss ideas, tell stories, present their work, deliver speeches and participate in projects.

Our Show Days provide additional opportunities for children to showcase their learning through storytelling, speeches, presentations, drama, skits, emceeing and other performances.

Does RCC include creative writing and storytelling?

Yes. Both are core components of RCC.

In Creative Writing, children progressively learn to develop ideas, structure their writing, create characters and settings, use literary techniques and develop their own writing voice.

In Storytelling, children learn to build, narrate, adapt and perform stories using voice, expression, pacing and delivery.

Children in the advanced levels may also have opportunities to have their work considered for anthologies or chapter-book anthologies, where applicable.

How are children assessed?

Assessment goes beyond written tests.

Children demonstrate their learning through reading, writing, class participation, projects, storytelling, presentations and speeches. Regular feedback helps children understand their progress, identify areas for improvement and become more aware of their own learning.

What does an RCC class look like?

RCC is conducted through live, interactive online classes in small groups, with a 1:6 educator-to-student ratio.

Children do not simply listen to a teacher. They participate through discussion, reading, writing, storytelling, presentations, projects and guided activities.

They also receive structured workbooks to reinforce learning and provide opportunities for practice and application.

How long is the RCC programme?

RCC is an ongoing learning journey, not a short-term course with a fixed end date.

As children grow, the programme continues to deepen their reading, writing and communication skills, gradually moving from foundational learning towards more independent thinking and expression.

RCC grows with your child as they learn to read deeply, think independently and express themselves with confidence.
